Academic Life
Our teaching philosophy seeks to promote the joy of learning. We encourage each and every child to fully participate in the life of our whole school.
Our curriculum is based on firm foundations and our traditional approach ensures that priority is given to reading, comprehension, writing and numeracy whilst promoting thinking skills, creativity and individual expression at every opportunity.
Our broad and balanced curriculum incorporates active learning and first hand experiences. Small classes and a well structured, stimulating learning environment will enable your child to think, ask questions, develop curiosity, experiment, explore and investigate. Our specialist teachers and whole school facilities enhance the learning opportunities for your child throughout their prep years. This includes specialist French, Dance, Music, Art, Design and Technology, Drama, PE, Food Technology and Games. In addition to this, our extensive grounds coupled with our “Forest School” programme enables pupils to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in our woodland.
We are committed to promoting an academic culture which celebrates individual achievement; where your child will be given the time, support and encouragement to realise their full potential.
